JibJab, a leading independent provider of social expression content through branded satires and e-cards, today announces its CEO Paul Hanges has been named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the Achievement in Management, Media and Entertainment category in The 19th Annual American Business Awards®.

The American Business Awards are the U.S.A.’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the US are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and nonprofit, large and small.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word meaning “crowned,” the awards will be virtually presented to winners during a live event on Wednesday, June 30. Tickets for the virtual event are now on sale.

More than 3,800 nominations – a record number – from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year, Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year, Marketing Campaign of the Year, Virtual Event of the Year, and App of the Year, among others.

Hanges has been the driving force behind the brand’s impressive growth and resurgence since taking the helm in early 2019. The submission, “JibJab CEO Furthers Mission to Make Billions of People Happy Everyday,” highlights several accomplishments and strategic initiatives put in place over the past two years to further the brand’s success, including bringing back beloved and “retired” content, taking a stand against Facebook and the spread of misinformation, growing the brand’s music offerings to further connect with younger (more digital) audiences, and leading the brand through a global pandemic and remote work situation.

The award submission received glowing reviews from several judges, with one noting, “JibJab has seen a tremendous amount of growth and success; Mr. Hanges is a perfect visionary for the future of e-cards. Great work JibJab!” More than 250 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners.

“’I have worked alongside many CEOs in my career but Paul is truly one of a kind,” said JibJab Chief Creative Officer Mauro Gatti. “Paul is a visionary, talented and invested in the wellbeing of his co-workers, and has trusted my creative vision from the start – further proof that he is fully vested in giving his team the space and resources they need to grow and succeed.”

“The American economy continues to show its resilience, and as we’re poised on the beginning of what should be a phenomenal period of growth, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of a wide range of organizations and people over the past 18 months,” said Stevie Awards President Maggie Gallagher. “This year’s Stevie-winning nominations in The American Business Awards are testament to the ingenuity, the commitment, the passion, the adaptability, and the creativity of the American people. We look forward to celebrating this year’s winners during our virtual ceremony on June 30.”
