Bullhorn, the cloud computing company that helps staffing and recruiting
organizations transform their businesses, announced today that it has
hired Javid Muhammedali as its new Vice President, Product-Artificial
Intelligence. Muhammedali will lead the company’s Artificial
Intelligence (AI) business unit, a unit that will operate as a
well-funded and agile startup within the established and supportive
Bullhorn environment. Muhammedali’s hiring follows Bullhorn’s
announcement last year of Cleo, its artificial intelligence engine for
the staffing industry.

Since announcing Cleo at Engage Boston 2018, Bullhorn has been training
its machine learning and natural language processing models on the more
than 600 billion records within the Bullhorn platform. Bullhorn is
already the system of record for its 10,000 customers around the world –
the technology foundation upon which these many of these customers run
the entirety of their business processes – with more than a million
candidates accessing Bullhorn solutions each month. With its exploratory
AI R&D work complete, the company will work to integrate Cleo into its
newly-released Bullhorn One start-to-finish offering for the staffing
industry, providing a one-stop shop to staffing agencies looking to
manage any process within the recruiting and operations lifecycle – from
candidate intake to invoicing – within a single system.

Muhammedali’s extensive experience with AI and enterprise software
positions him as the ideal leader to bring Bullhorn’s staffing AI work
into ubiquity. Over the course of his expansive career, he spent nine
years at recruiting behemoth Monster, culminating in a role as VP of
Product Management, during which he led search, partnerships and
software solutions globally. More recently, Muhammedali was SVP of
Integrated Solutions and Partnerships at Care.com, and a Knowledge
Expert in Enterprise Software at McKinsey and Company.

“The world of work is changing more rapidly than ever before,” said
Muhammedali, “with recruitment and staffing companies at the forefront
of that change. Bullhorn has the advantage of seeing hiring through from
start to finish, from the day the req is created to the day a candidate
starts and then gets paid, millions of times every year, something that
the biggest players simply don’t have. Many players in the recruiting
space look for predictive data in social media profiles and in detailed
resumes, but Bullhorn adds data on submissions, job offers, starts, and
tenure that are more salient to actual outcomes. The power of that data
will soon be at the disposal of recruiters, managers, and executives on
our platform who wish to maximize their competitive impact. I’m excited
by the opportunity to take AI from the theoretical realm into the hands
of recruiters to retool their processes, get faster placements, improve
service quality, and generate higher margins, all powered by market
intelligence specific to location, role, and key skills.”

“For the past two years we’ve had staffing industry specific use cases
for artificial intelligence as one of our top R&D priorities,” said
Matthew Fischer, President and CTO of Bullhorn. “We’ve taken the time to
invest in the resources necessary to grow AI into a core aspect of our
DNA, and now we’re making the leap from insight to action with Javid
joining our team. He will supercharge our AI development efforts from
conceptual to actual, and his wealth of experience in AI, staffing, and
enterprise technology makes him well suited for this opportunity.
Bullhorn has always been at the forefront of moving the staffing
industry forward from a technology and process vantage point, and we
have an unmatched 600 billion records in our full-lifecycle staffing
offering on which to append intelligent decision-making. We’re excited
to work closely with our customers and with Javid to transform the
market.”
