Healthstat, Inc., a leading provider of onsite, nearsite and shared-site employer-sponsored health centers, launched enhancements of its VirtualCare Platform, which supports evidence-based physical and mental health programs including those developed by Johns Hopkins Medicine. The VirtualCare Platform gives patients remote access to routine care, chronic condition treatment, medications and urgent consultations from the comfort of their homes.

The VirtualCare Platform complements Healthstat’s in-person health center offering with a suite of remote offerings, including virtual visits, an after-hours call line, health coaching and consultation delivered via web and phone. All VirtualCare services are integrated with the electronic medical record to ensure continuity of care with onsite health center providers. These virtual services address ongoing health management needs employees have in the uncertain short term and as employers begin to implement return to work procedures.

  • Mental Health Management: Ment4Me provides 24/7 access to real-time guidance and resources through an AI-powered text chat and a triage call line, as well as scheduled virtual visits with trained mental health professionals for ongoing treatment.
  • Diabetes Care: Developed by Johns Hopkins Medicine for diabetes prevention, act2 is an interactive, online, coach-supported behavior change program for those diagnosed with pre-diabetes. A virtual coach also supports DECIDE, an online self-management program for adults diagnosed with type 1 or type 2 diabetes that empowers them to make positive behavior changes to get their diabetes under control.
  • Cancer Management: Work Stride: Managing Cancer at Work is a Johns Hopkins Medicine program for employees with cancer or caregivers of those with cancer to help them and their families navigate the complex care journey. Features include a comprehensive online library and direct access to oncology nurse navigators who provide guidance and support on all cancer-related topics including employee health care benefits and the financial and emotional aspects of dealing with a cancer diagnosis and its treatment.
  • Medication Consulting: Healthstat’s pharmacist counseling program delivered through phone or video drives greater compliance, reduced inappropriate drug utilization and increased savings. Includes virtual pharmacy consults, proactive outreach to high-impact populations and automatic outreach to members who trigger cost, disease or medication protocols.

“While the COVID-19 pandemic has massively disrupted all our lives, access to physical and mental health care cannot be put on hold,” said Crockett Dale, CEO of Healthstat. “Now more than ever, patients need a reliable and effective way to continue their treatments for mental health, diabetes, cancer and other conditions, and we are determined to provide high-quality and low-cost care that they can count on during this unsettling and restrictive environment.”

Over the coming months, Healthstat will integrate additional offerings into the VirtualCare Platform, including telemedicine, occupational health and the Healthstat+ app, which will give patients access to schedule appointments, view personal health records and communicate with providers.

To ensure everyone has access to information to protect their health, Healthstat is hosting a webinar, open to the public, on April 23, 2020, where Crockett Dale, Ilene Klein, MD, FAAFP, Chief Population Health Officer of Healthstat, Jessica Ricks, Chief Growth Officer of Healthstat, and Hossam Mahmoud, MD, MPH, Medical Director and Senior Vice President of InSight + Regroup Telehealth, will discuss the COVID-19 pandemic’s effect on mental health and the resources available to patients.
