South Korea’s Gen.G never secured a Chicken Dinner on Day 2 of the Grand Finals, but they effectively nursed the lead they established on Day 1 to get the job done. That and a ferocious 10 kills on the last map of the day to overcome a two-point deficit was all Gen.G would need to overpower China’s Four Angry Men and secure the championship.

“This has been an amazing year for PUBG Esports, and seeing all of the top talent across the globe compete for a fan-supported prize pool and ultimate bragging rights really encapsulates everything we set out to accomplish,” said Jake Sin, Director of Central Esports for PUBG Corporation. “The PUBG Global Championship provided excitement for our players, fans and community, and we’d like to congratulate Gen.G and the rest of our competitors for making this an incredible event!”

The 2019 PUBG Esports season has come to a close, but not without a plethora of exciting moments and storylines. This past summer, the PUBG community saw Team Russia take home the Nations Cup title in Seoul, South Korea, in a spectacular display of talent and grit. For PGC 19, more than $6 million dollars USD was distributed to pro teams between the guaranteed prize pool and PGC 19 items crowdfunding efforts. PUBG Corporation would like to thank the teams, partners, and most importantly, the fans, for all their support throughout the 2019 season. Stay tuned for an early look at the PUBG Esports’ 2020 season in December.
