CloudKnox Security, provider of the only cloud permissions management platform for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, today announced it has been named a Cool Vendor in Identity and Access Management and Fraud Detection1 by Gartner. The report recognizes vendors with innovative solutions that “identify, analyze and orchestrate security controls over all IaaS environments using just-in-time and least-privilege approaches.”

As enterprises accelerate cloud adoption, security operations and cloud infrastructure teams are being asked to do the impossible – manage and secure multiple, complex, and vastly different cloud platforms while keeping up with the proliferation of powerful human and non-human identities with excessive and unnecessary permissions. Gartner recognized CloudKnox’s innovative approach to managing this risk.

As Gartner states, “What is cool about CloudKnox’s approach is it allows the abstraction of several granular controls, privileges and accesses (that work differently in each cloud provider) into a manageable number of activities to mitigate risk. For combining discovery, analytics and governance (remediation) of access, they provide a simplified and faster way to reduce exposure and risk.”

Gartner further states that “CloudKnox is especially valuable for organizations with large multi-cloud initiatives who need to quickly reduce and better govern excessive privilege risks in cloud environments. This is typically very hard to accomplish with traditional (or converged) IAM solutions alone.”

The CloudKnox Cloud Permissions Management platform was built from the ground up to support a continuous and adaptive framework for managing identity permissions. Its risk-based decision-making approach enables security and cloud infrastructure teams to continuously create, monitor, and enforce the principle of least privilege across their hybrid and multi-cloud deployments. It does so through the combination of its patented CloudKnox Activity-Based Authorization Protocol and Just Enough Privileges (JEP) Controller, which automates and simplifies permissions right-sizing across VMware, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, resulting in significant cost and time savings.

“We are delighted to be recognized as a Gartner Cool Vendor in IAM and Fraud Detection, as it validates our patented technology innovations and highlights the growing market need for a multi-cloud permissions management solution,” said Balaji Parimi, CEO and founder of CloudKnox Security. “We are especially proud that Gartner recognized our unique approach to enabling enterprises to enforce a least privilege posture across their hybrid and multi-cloud environments. We will continue to build on our market-leading technology by leveraging our recent funding to accelerate product development.”
