Kevin Dillon, Co-Founder, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Sales Officer of ERI, the nation’s leading recycler of electronic waste and the world’s largest IT asset disposition provider and cybersecurity-focused hardware destruction company, led and moderated the opening plenary session at the E-Scrap 2019 conference in Orlando last week.

For the panel, titled “Tech Giants at the Table,” Dillon addressed the audience on the importance of innovation and sustainability and moderated a panel discussion featuring several of the leading authorities in the industry, including Erika Chan, Director of Corporate Sustainability for Dell; Jonathan King, Vice President of Corporate and Legal Affairs for TCL; Mark Newton, Head of Corporate Sustainability for Samsung Electronics North America; and Doug Smith, Director of Corporate Environment, Safety and Health for Sony.

The panel discussion covered details on the relationship between manufacturers and recyclers, and what sustainability and data destruction related trends and regulatory issues the industry as a whole is managing. It was an open and animated discussion featuring the experts weighing in on best practices and potential challenges moving forward as the e-waste landscape continues to evolve.

“We’re grateful to have been asked by our friends at E-Scrap to host this informative panel at such an important conference,” said Dillon. “It’s key that we as an industry focus on the various ways we can move forward as the manufacturing side continues to evolve. And each step of the way, we must never lose sight of the importance of environmental responsibility, innovation, and the proper destruction of data. I’m truly grateful to the extraordinary panelists who generously provided their time and expertise for this special event. It was an honor to share the stage with the very innovators and global leaders who are directly driving social, regulatory, and behavioral change. It’s also particularly rewarding to work alongside organizations that are committed to continuous improvement of our planet.”

A leading industry event, E-Scrap annually hosts more than 1,200 attendees from more than 35 countries. This year’s conference, entering its 17th year, offered a bustling exhibit hall, tear-down demos, a series of presentations, sessions and Q&As featuring leading industry executives and associations.
