Epirus, Inc., a Silicon Valley-backed, high growth technology company, announced today the formation of a strategic advisory board made up of internationally recognized leaders who bring a depth of experience and leadership to the company. Continuing on the company’s rapid pace of growth following the successful validation of its technology at a recent customer event, Epirus is developing Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems solutions for the U.S. Department of Defense and power management solutions for application across sectors.
Epirus’ advisory board is made up of powerhouse leaders who bring a wealth of knowledge and decades of real world, enterprise experience to the table:
– Michael Ovitz, Founder, CKE and Co-Founder, Creative Artists Agency and former President, Walt Disney Company
– Sam Palmisano, Chairman, Center for Global Enterprise and former CEO/Chairman, IBM
– Jerry Yang, Founding Partner, AME Cloud Ventures and Co-Founder and former CEO, Yahoo! Inc.
– Richard Mattera, Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer, UnitedHealth Group
– Jeffrey Grant, Board Member, The Aerospace Corporation and former Vice President and General Manager of Space Systems Division, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems
These heavy-hitting additions to the advisory board are a direct reflection of the company’s agile mindset and eagerness to bring a wealth of industry backgrounds and diversity of thought to the table. The advisory board – whose experience reaches across the national security, technology, entertainment, communications and healthcare sectors – will work closely with Epirus internal leadership and advise on all matters relating to the company’s growth, deployment of existing Epirus technology across industries and the delivery of future technologies currently in development.
“I am elated to announce the formation of our advisory board today. The unmatched experience of this group leaves Epirus incredibly well positioned to execute on our mission of creating innovative solutions to some of the most complex challenges of our time. We remain mission focused and committed to beating the biggest national security threats of our time to the punch with our state-of-the-art technology. I could not think of a stronger group of leaders to work alongside on this journey. This is truly just the beginning for us,” said Leigh Madden, Epirus Chief Executive Officer.
Today’s announcement comes on the heels of a period of tremendous growth for Epirus and the validation of their technology at a highly successful customer field demonstration earlier this year. The company currently has close to 100 employees between their Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. offices and are on pace to grow to 150 jobs in 2021 and 300 by the end of 2022. The aforementioned advisors bring a proven track record of driving transformative change to the Epirus team and are further evidence of the company’s commitment to fostering an innovative culture that allows Epirus to bring tomorrow’s technologies to life, today.
“I am gripped with an immense amount of excitement and pride to announce the formation of our advisory board. The experience this group brings to the company is invaluable and today marks yet another critical inflection point for Epirus,” added Grant Verstandig, Epirus Executive Chairman and Co-Founder. “When we founded Epirus in 2018, we set out on a mission to shape the battle space and protect our country’s greatest assets – our men and women in uniform. Today, we are on track to achieve mission success and have unlocked new applications for Epirus’ revolutionary SmartPower technology. I am thrilled to work with our advisors to bring Epirus products to the very industries they are titans of and humbled to have their support in ensuring the vision and promise of Epirus are fully realized.”
