Canadian SaaS company EnergyX Solutions is now using their MIT award-winning energy audit MyEnergyXpert in homes and businesses across North America, with the addition of 9 new utility clients across the U.S. and Canada this year. EnergyX Solutions’ AI-powered software technology determines how a building is using energy and identifies ways it can improve its overall performance. The outcome is less energy consumption, fewer carbon emissions and cost savings for home and business owners.
“MyEnergyXpert is delivering real-time cost savings to homeowners and business owners, engaging them in energy efficiency and helping utilities understand their customer base.” said EnergyX CEO and Founder Nishaant Sangaavi. “Our growth in 2019 has been substantial because our technology is making energy efficiency easy and accessible. We believe that when people are empowered with information about their homes and businesses, they can make smart choices about energy and prioritize the things that matter most.”
MyEnergyXpert generates custom building insights in less than 10 minutes by asking customers a series of basic questions about their homes and businesses. “Utilities have access to detailed customer information, but a lot of that information is sensitive and personal.” said EnergyX CTO and Founder Alex Corneglio. “Our algorithms are based on non-personally identifiable building information. This means we can generate real insights for our utility partners without requiring consumption data. We know that by helping utilities make better use of data, we are ensuring their customers get better service.”
MyEnergyXpert has already empowered millions of homeowners across North America to achieve energy efficiency. Moving into 2020, EnergyX is pushing the boundaries of what’s possible by using data science to predict home energy consumption virtually. By pairing powerful data analytics with publicly available building information, EnergyX is working toward generating audit-grade insights without any input from the consumer or utility. “MyEnergyXpert has already simplified and digitized the energy audit space, and virtual audits will revolutionize it.” said Nishaant Sangaavi. “Virtual Audits are the natural evolution of the energy audit provided by MyEnergyXpert. We want every building in North America to have an energy audit which in turn will facilitate action towards energy conservation, and we believe that our technology can help our utility partners achieve that goal.”
Building on recent successes, EnergyX anticipates creating new partnerships with utilities and energy efficiency organizations from coast to coast to coast in both the U.S and Canada in 2020. The company is also leading ambitious pilots of virtual audit technology and will continue that exciting work moving forward.
