Contentsquare, the global leader in digital experience analytics, announces its acquisition of Upstride today, a Paris-based deep-tech company specialized in improving machine learning performance. Upstride’s highly skilled deep learning engineers will join Contentsquare’s Data Science development team in the Paris product hub to accelerate the company’s ambitious AI innovation roadmap.

During its recent $500M Series E announcement, Contentsquare revealed its plans to further invest in AI, and accelerate innovation both organically and through acquisitions. This latest acquisition reinforces Contentsquare’s commitment to innovation and customer success by continually evolving its solution. The company currently has 250 people working in R&D in Lyon, Paris, Rennes, Tel Aviv and its newly-opened Barcelona hub. It has announced it will open 500 new positions over the next three years in product development, with a special focus on intent-based optimization, cookieless and predictive capabilities, merchandising insights and content performance.

“Data is the life force of our solution, and Upstride is home to some of the most creative and innovative minds in the tech industry. We are very pleased to welcome Upstride into the Contentsquare family and to start pushing new AI boundaries together,” said Jonathan Cherki, CEO and Founder at Contentsquare.

“AI will fundamentally reshape our digital journeys towards better and more personalized experiences. With trillions of user interactions analyzed daily, Contentsquare is ideally placed to lead this transformation and become one of the world’s top tech companies. We are very excited about joining such an amazing company and leveraging AI to its fullest potential!” Gary Roth, Co-Founder and CEO of Upstride.

In May Contentsquare raised $500M Series E funding at a $2.8B valuation, increasing its global headcount by 1500+ people in the next three years, and expanding its presence in both existing and new territories. It launched three new products, expanded its patent portfolio with 11 patents and 28 patent-pending or published applications, acquired two companies, launched an incubator and started the Contentsquare Foundation, a nonprofit with a mission to promote digital accessibility for all. Contentsquare is today trusted by more than 750 leading global brands, including BMW, Ikea, Microsoft, Rakuten, Sephora, The NorthFace, and Verizon.

Founded in 2018 with support from prestigious deep tech investors Entrepreneur First, Upstride has been working on developing next-generation APIs to push the limits of deep learning. Since its creation, the company has raised $3M in funding from 360 Capital, Entrepreneur First, Kernel Investissements and former Microsoft Executives at Acequia Capital. Contentsquare gains 14 world-class engineers representing 8 different nationalities with the acquisition, including 7 PhDs in Deep Learning from some of the top academic institutions in the world. The team at Upstride has worked for leading tech companies globally, including GoPro, Facebook, Nvidia, Samsung, Valeo, Parrot, McKinsey and more.

Upstride CEO Gary Roth will join the company’s operations team in a strategic role.

As Contentsquare continues to transform the way teams use behavioral data to elevate the digital experience and transform their business, the company has also been investing in digital trust, and recently cemented its leadership on digital privacy with the launch of a cookieless version of its solution.
