Nutanix, a leader in enterprise cloud computing, today announced that it has appointed Christian Alvarez as Vice President, Americas Channel, where he will lead Nutanix’s Americas Channel team.

“Nutanix is one of those rare companies to have truly revolutionized cloud software and hyper-converged infrastructure, and I couldn’t be more honored to have been chosen to lead its Americas channel organization into the future,” said Alvarez. “The opportunity ahead for Nutanix and its partners is vast, but to seize it, we must collaborate even more effectively with our partners and move faster. Partners continue to be an integral part of Nutanix’s growth strategy, and I’m truly thrilled to join the team to continue creating innovative solutions that will drive our customers forward into the multi-cloud era.”

Alvarez’s experience includes more than 26 years of leading high-performance teams in executive sales and channel management roles at leading telecommunications and technology companies. In his previous role as Worldwide Head of Channels and Distribution at Juniper Networks, Alvarez held responsibility for over 14,000 partners and 50 distributors around the world. Prior to joining Juniper Networks, Alvarez held a number of senior leadership positions at companies like Cyan, a Ciena Company, Avaya, eLandia Group, Connexion Technologies and Terremark Worldwide, a Verizon company.

Nutanix’s partners include value-added resellers, distributors, system integrators, strategic OEM partners and technology alliances. In this role, Alvarez will drive Nutanix’s overall partner sales and go-to-market program to deliver greater business outcomes for customers and partners through Nutanix’s broad portfolio of award-winning cloud solutions and offerings. One of his key areas of focus will be extending the efforts of partnerships like Nutanix’s recent HPE partnership, which has driven further collaboration across teams and deals.

“As we enter fiscal 2020, we all recognize the critical role the Americas channel organization will play in helping us achieve this year’s revenue goals,” said Bob Wallace, VP of Sales Strategy at Nutanix. “Christian brings great experience to our Americas channel team and is well-equipped to help us reinforce our commitment to our partners and help them capitalize on opportunities to work with us. His people-first leadership style will help us drive superior customer and partner experiences and foster a positive, inclusive culture at Nutanix.”

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Christian for more than four years,” said Mike Tatum, Director of Product Management, Infrastructure and Security at Insight Enterprises. “He is an incredible leader who works hard to understand and enable partners like Insight in transforming and growing clients’ businesses, adopting new technologies and improving their profitability. I look forward to continuing partnering with Christian and the Nutanix team on the future of the cloud.”
