Bitglass, the Next-Gen CASB company, has just announced its expansion into two new markets with the opening of regional offices in Toronto, Canada as well as Tokyo, Japan. At the helm of the regional expansions are David Newall, Canada Country General Manager, and Yasuyuki Shinmen, Japan Country General Manager.
The announcement follows a record-breaking quarter in which Bitglass developed relationships with customers around the world and across all key industry verticals. This is the latest in the company’s global expansion – it follows previous pushes throughout the Americas, EMEA, ANZ, and other countries in the APAC region. With $70 million in Series D funding secured earlier this year, Bitglass is continuing to drive innovation in the CASB space and is further developing its presence worldwide.
“Bitglass is leading the way in large-scale CASB deployments and is solving critical data security and data sovereignty challenges for global companies,” said Dean Hickman-Smith, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Field Operations at Bitglass. “Channel partners like Hitachi Solutions, Ltd. in Japan and CDW in Canada are generating significant customer interest and are accelerating the adoption of our solution. So, the time is now for us to appoint senior industry leaders that will drive our business forward. I am excited to be reunited with Newall and Shinmen, both of whom I’ve had the pleasure of working with at former companies. We are confident that they will significantly accelerate our market penetration in each of their regions.”
Dave Shepherd, Vice President of APJANZ at Bitglass, further noted, “We just completed a record quarter in ANZ and have developed relationships with significant customers in Singapore and Hong Kong. Around the world, the need for inline, real-time cloud security is evident. Customers have spoken, our channel partners are identifying many new opportunities, and the timing is perfect to enter these markets.”
