Bird Canada today announced that the s.h.a.r.e. Safe Streets tour will be making a stop in Edmonton on Tuesday, September 17 from 2 – 5pm at Dr. Wilbert McIntyre Park (8303 104 Street NW). The event will provide attendees with micro-mobility vehicle basics, including in-depth information on how to properly, responsibly, and safely ride and mindfully park e-scooters; general scooting best practices; and rules for respecting pedestrians, businesses, and traffic to ensure safe ride sharing in the City of Edmonton.

The event is ideal for those who are interested in riding e-scooters or want information on the Bird service and its fleet of e-scooters. Attendees at the event in Edmonton will be able to ride one of 30 Birds that will be onsite, within the event perimeter. Bird Canada will also be giving out free helmets.

Bird’s 100 city s.h.a.r.e. Safe Streets tour reinforces the company’s focus on safety. It is designed to ensure responsible riding by making safety simple and by giving riders (and members of the community) the following attainable and actionable s.h.a.r.e tips to use for their next ride:

  • Safe riding. Navigate traffic with care.
  • Heightened awareness. Anticipate what others might do.
  • Always alert. Save the selfies and music for after the ride.
  • Respect for pedestrians. Yield and keep walkways accessible.
  • Every voice matters. Get involved to help your city reshape its streets.

Additional information on e-scooter safety is available in this safety report published earlier this year by Bird.
