Awake Security, the only advanced network traffic analysis (NTA) company that delivers a privacy-aware solution, was included in Enterprise Technology Research’s (ETR) Summer 2019 Emerging Technology Study (ETS) measuring IT Decision Maker brand awareness, planned evaluation, and utilization of 375 privately-held enterprise technology vendors. The response ranked Awake as the #1 information security vendor with respect to Global 1000 respondents that cited they are “currently evaluating”.

This study was conducted with ETR’s active community of 4500+ CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, Chief Architects, and other high-level IT Decision Makers. Respondents to this study included 889 IT Decision Makers who represent about $373 billion in annual IT spend. Among this group, there were 306 Global 2000 respondents and 88 of them represented Fortune 500 companies. Awake also ranked #2 among included information security vendors for “near-term growth opportunity” within Global 1000 respondents – ETR’s metric that combines multiple survey response-types to determine overall strength of enterprise evaluations, utilization, and adoptions.

As a qualitative match to this survey data, Awake’s CEO, Rahul Kashyap, was invited to discuss the factors influencing Awake’s direction and his take on what’s happening in the broader security market. A full transcript, executive summary, and replay of the discussion is available in VENN’s searchable library of events and interviews: https://etr.plus/marketplace/venn-396-awake-security-venn

“ETR and its event platform, VENN, were excited to feature Rahul and Awake not only because of the recognition the company has already received but the forward-looking, unbiased, and quantitative reasoning collected from our community of IT Decision Makers,” submitted VENN Managing Directors Peter Steube and Erik Bradley. “This process exceptionally represents the strategic design of our platform for 360° due diligence at scale for the entire enterprise technology universe; IT Decision Makers, Investors, and Companies alike,” added Thomas DelVecchio, Founder and CEO of ETR and VENN parent company, Aptiviti.

“ETR’s Emerging Technology Study is very comprehensive and we’re extremely proud of being at the top of the list among our peers,” said Rahul Kashyap, CEO of Awake Security. “The market is saturated with a lot of security vendors attempting to deliver solutions, so to be recognized as a vendor that potential customers across different industries strongly consider speaks volumes about the work our team does every day to put forth an exceptional product.”

Awake Security’s placement as a top security vendor in ETR’s study further amplifies the company’s relentless focus on helping organizations protect their networks from today’s modern cyber threats, such as malicious insiders, credential abuse, lateral movement, and data exfiltration. The company won the Gold Edison Award for Best New Cybersecurity Product, was recognized by Business Insider as one of the most promising cybersecurity companies this year and was named in Gartner’s first market guide for network traffic analysis(1). In addition, Awake Security was also awarded across multiple categories in the Cybersecurity Excellence Awards program; secured Gold in the Info Security Products Guide Global Excellence Awards program; named a winner in the Cyber Defense Magazine InfoSec Award for Next Gen Cybersecurity Analytics; and selected as a “Top 3” solution for detecting lateral movement, credential abuse, and threat hunting by Enterprise Management Associates.
