Medsphere Systems Corporation, the leading provider of affordable and interoperable healthcare IT platform solutions and services, today announced that Ashley Addiction Treatment Center will transition to the company’s RCM Cloud platform of patient access and revenue cycle solutions. A Stockell Healthcare client from 2006 until the merger of Medsphere and Stockell in September 2017, Ashley has been using InsightCS, Stockell’s on-site suite of RCM tools.

“As satisfied as we’ve been with the localized RCM suite, there were still obvious benefits in making this move to a cloud-based solution,” said Ashley CEO Dave Nassef. “Beyond the obvious advantages of not having to maintain local servers, RCM Cloud includes an updated user interface that enables our staff to work more efficiently. The switch to RCM Cloud also improves our financial efficiency via a new charge unit methodology that addresses an overlapping authorizations requirement for billing from our outpatient clinics.”

Originally founded in 1983 in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Ashley started as an alcoholism treatment center and has since expanded to incorporate care for all manner of substance-use disorders. Ashley employs a holistic approach to addiction that incorporates aspects of medical and psychological care in an effort to address the underlying causes of addiction, as well as contributing factors such as depression, anxiety and genetic/familial concerns.

“Ashley’s relationship with Medsphere via Stockell goes back quite a few years, and we’re very pleased that Dave and the leadership team had the trust and confidence necessary to make this transition,” said Irv Lichtenwald, Medsphere president and CEO. “Cloud-based solutions like RCM Cloud provide a combination of freedom, flexibility and performance that onsite solutions can’t quite match. This is the way of the future in healthcare IT, and we’re very pleased to see clients like Ashley make the jump.”

Medsphere’s RCM Cloud solution is one aspect of a cloud-based HIT system that includes the CareVue Cloud electronic health record. Medsphere also incorporates the award-winning Wellsoft emergency department EHR and the HealthLine supply chain management solution into a comprehensive platform to address the financial and clinical needs of most any healthcare organization.
