Dr. Vernon Johnson, president and CEO of Accelerate
Learning, has received the 2019 “Visionary” award in the Leadership
category of the 2019 EdTech
Awards. In addition to Johnson’s Leadership Award, Accelerate Learning
was named a finalist for a Trendsetter Award in the “edtech company
setting a trend” category.
For nearly a decade, the EdTech Awards program has sought to highlight
and celebrate innovators, leaders and trendsetters in the education
technology industry. This year’s program featured over 50 different
subcategories of awards including best video-based learning solutions,
special needs/assistive technology solutions, emerging technologies,
college prep solutions and more.
“I am extremely honored to be recognized as the winner of this year’s
Visionary award,” said Johnson. “But as we all know, it takes a team to
bring a product to market and I am fortunate to be supported daily by
talented professionals who bring their best to our work of providing the
best digital science and STEM resources to preK-12 education.”
Accelerate Learning’s solutions were also recognized as finalists in
three of the competition’s Cool Tool Awards categories. They are:
-
STEMscopes
NGSS 3D in the STEM solution category
-
STEMrangers
Science Night in the parent/student solution category
-
STEMscopes
Early Explorer for preK/early childhood learning in the “write-in:
OTHER” category
“The 2019 EdTech Awards celebrate edtech’s best and brightest;
innovators, leaders, and trendsetters who are shaping the future of
learning,” said Victor Rivero, who as editor-in-chief of EdTech Digest,
oversees the program. “This year’s finalists and winners were narrowed
from the larger field and judged based on various criteria, including:
pedagogical workability, efficacy and results, support, clarity, value
and potential. We offer our sincere congratulations and thanks to them
all.”
