Could Sony’s Xperia Z4 Ultra Be The Most Powerful Tablet Ever?

Sony could well be gearing up to launch the most powerful tablet device ever seen following the apparent release of specifications for its upcoming Xperia Z4 Ultra Tablet.

A posting on Chinese site Padnews says that the device (pictured below), reportedly set for launch next year, will feature a 3840 x 2400 4K display, along with 6GB of RAM and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 2.86GHz.

This would put it far ahead of any competing tablet device on the market today, and also boasts a 12,100mAh battery, 64GB of storage, an 8MP camera capable of recording HD video and support for PS4 Remote Play.

Packing a punch

There has been no official word from Sony as yet, but we’re expecting to see more from the company at either the CES show in January or Mobile World Congress in March.

The Xperia Z4 Ultra tablet could be one of a range of devices coming from Sony, as the company also readies a new range of smartphones packing some equally impressive hardware.

Reports last week revealed details on boththe Xperia Z4 Compact and Z4 Ultra, the confusingly-named budget and phablet companions to the flagship Z4 smartphone which should also appear at Mobile World Congress.

The former device will feature a 4.7in 1080px screen, and will also come with 32GB of internal memory, a 20.7MP rear camera and 5MP front-facing camera capable of recording 1080p video. It will also include support for superfast LTE Cat.9 internet alongside Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and wireless charging.
