Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ & Note 5 To Be Revealed Next Month

Samsung may have just revealed the launch date for its next selection of mobile devices.

The company has sent out invitations to its next Galaxy Unpacked event in New York on August 13 (pictured below), where it’s expected to lift the veil on a selection of new devices, possibly including the Galaxy Note 5 or a Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.

The last Samsung Unpacked event saw the company reveal its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices at Mobile World Congress back in March.

Coming Soon?

Rumours surrounding Samsung’s next generation of devices have increased in volume recently as the company looks to bounce back from a series of disappointing financial results. Despite remaining the world’s largest smartphone vendor by units shipped, the company recently warned that its upcoming series of results may fail to meet expectations.

Last week, photos claiming to show a dummy version of the Galaxy S6 Edge+ appeared in Germany, showing a device sizing up to the Galaxy Note, with the device expected to pack some seriously powerful hardware, including a Snapdragon 808 processor and 32GB of internal storage.

As for the Note 5, this was initially expected to be announced at the IFA technology show in Berlin in September, matching previous Samsung release cycles, but it seems this may now no longer be the case.

Photos purporting to show the Note 5 were also leaked earlier this month, although they didn’t appear to show much difference to the previous generation of the device except for some slightly more rounded corners.
