Good Technology is offering a new ‘starter’ enterprise mobility management (MDM) platform to businesses in the early stages of deploying a mobile strategy, promising it can be adapted should a firm’s needs become more substantial in the future
The company says most mobile strategies initially only need to manage devices running different operating systems, but may eventually need to manage data and applications securely. This, Good claims, means some businesses are forced to purchase basic EMM products that can eventually become redundant.
Good Management Suite is built on top of the Good Dynamics platform and offers mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) capabilities to administrators as well as a secure browser and enterprise application store. The service can be deployed within minutes and is managed through the cloud.
“As mobility continues to assume a larger role in the enterprise, organisations need to plan for both their current and future mobile needs,” said John Herrema, senior vice president of product management at Good Technology. “By delivering a comprehensive cloud-based Enterprise Mobility Management solution, we are ensuring that organisations have access to a simple solution that expands as their mobile initiatives evolve.”
Good hopes to tap into the growing demand for EMM and BYOD policies and earlier this month, Good CEO Christy Wyatt told TechWeekEurope about the company’s new Good Work with Data add-on, which adds dual billing to the Good Work platform.
“There have clearly been a lot of global mobility programs, and one of the things we’ve seen over the past year is that the conversation around who wants to be the firm understanding BYO?” she said.
“Only Good has this unique architecture and can enable a hassle-free BYOD solution with true data billing separation – no one else has this today. This approach allows us to avoid the challenges other MDM vendors face as they expand their offerings, allowing Good to deliver a seamless experience without compromising any of the usability and security requirements our customers expect.”
