Facebook Messenger Now Lets Companies Contact Customers Directly

Facebook has announced a new way for businsesses to interact with their customers in the most personal way yet.

At its F8 conference in San Francisco last night, the social network giant revealed Messenger for Businesses, an upgraded version of its Messenger app which looks to make interaction easier than ever before.

Still in its preview stage, it’s likely that the new service, pictured in action below, will be released later this year, with interested businesses able to register their interest now.

Getting personal

Along with connecting with customers, Messenger for Businesses will also let businesses create rich and detailed messages featuring personalised or branded layouts that allow for a more complete online identity.

But the service can also help customers, allowing them to receive updates about online shopping orders and delivery times, as well as being able to ask businesses questions about products or services.

Announced during Mark Zuckerberg’s F8 keynote, Messenger for Businesses forms part of the company’s newly-launched Messenger as a Platform service, which looks to get the app in as many verticals and sites as possible.

Facebook announced last week that users would now be able to send money to each other using the app, simply by registering their card details, although its not confirmed whether Messenger for Businesses will include this function.
