Moto 360 2 Leaked By Lenovo CEO

The successor to one of the most popular smartwatches on the market may have just been inadvertently revealed by the man supposedly in charge of the operation.

Images purporting to be the next edition of the Moto 360 smartwatch were posted on Chinese social media website Weibo by Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing.

According to Chinese website MyDrivers.com the two images, now deleted, were posted online with the statement: “Moto 360, matching the arrival of the era of freedom, in the future we want to increase the store features a watch shop.”

All change?

The images (pictured left) show two carrying cases with multiple watch faces and straps, showing that Motorola is looking to offer a range of different straps, similar to Apple’s upcoming Watch, with offerings including grey and gold options.

The watch faces, like the original are circular but look much more like traditional watch faces, suggesting Motorola is looking to keep track with competitors such as LG and Huawei, both of whom released similarly-shaped devices at Mobile World Congress last month.

Motorola has not released any comment surrounding the images but the fact Yang deleted the post soon after posting it would suggest that they are legitimate and show at least concept images.

Motorola released the first edition of the Moto 360 in March 2014, describing it as “a truly modern timepiece”. The release came just weeks after the Chinese manufacturer announced it would be purchasing Motorola Mobility from Google for £1.76bn.
