Last year, we rebranded as Silicon with the stated ambition of being your guide to the technologies that enable digital transformation.
Since then we’ve spoken to the companies delivering these transformative products and services as well as the organisations that have been using them. We’ve been to events around the world to bring you the latest coverage and developments to keep you one step ahead.
Now we’re bringing the experts to you.
This Thursday, we will host our first Silicon 360 event, bringing together experts from the world of IT to discuss the final barriers to cloud adoption.
As an industry, we’ve accepted that cloud is essential to digital transformation – both in terms of the delivery of new services and innovations, but also increased mobility, flexibility and cost efficiencies.
According to figures from the Cloud Industry Forum, 88 percent or oganisations plan to use at least one cloud service in 2017 but the majority are adopting a hybrid approach. Indeed, 60 percent say they plan to keep specific applications and services on premise or that the cloud isn’t ready to make the move just yet.
Some industries are bounded by regulations while others struggle with budget and skills. Privacy and security remain the largest barriers to adoption.
So what are the final barriers and what advice can we give?
Silicon 360: Breaking Down The Barriers To Cloud will discuss these issues or more. You can watch video and read reports from the event on our dedicated microsite and follow the event live using the hashtag #Silicon360 from 9:30am on 6 April.
Until then, visit Silicon 360 to read a selection of our cloud coverage and meet the participants!
