Vodafone Smart Ultra 6

FullHD display, 13MP rear camera and octa-core processor, all for just £125

The budget mobile device war among the UK’s operators took another twist today as Vodafone waded in with a bargain 4G device.

Costing just £125, the Smart Ultra 6 offers a useful set of mid-range hardware, packing in a 5.5 inch 1,920 x 1,080 Full HD IPS display, Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, and 16GB of storage (expandable up it 128GB with microSD), making it a pretty handy proposition.

Measuring 154x77x8.4mm and weighing 159g, the Smart Ultra 6 will also include access to Vodafone’s 4G network, which 569 cities and towns as well as thousands of smaller communities across the UK.

Pocket-friendly

Vodafone Smart Ultra 6Also included is Android Lollipop 5.0.2, a 13MP rear-facing camera and a 5MP front facing ‘selfie cam’, and a 3000 mAh battery that Vodafone says can last up to two days without needing charging.

The device will also pack in a special Vodafone-only ‘Flipboard’ feature, which the operator says will let you access all your favourite apps with a single swipe.

“This is the most premium 4G device we’ve launched and one that I think customers will be very excited about due to its strong feature set, competitive price point and great design, it looks fantastic!” said Dee Kaul, Vodafone’s director, terminals UK and Ireland.

Vodafone will be hoping that the device can take on the likes of EE’s Harrier Tab, which launched earlier in the week targeting consumers and businesses for £199.99.

The Smart Ultra 6 is available from today for £125 on PAYG contracts, or is free from £17 per month on a Pay monthly bundle.
