Fujitsu Launches Windows 10-Powered Stylistic R726 2-In-1

Fujitsu Forum 2015: Stylistic R726 will operate as both tablet and laptop as Fujitsu targets enterprise users

Fujitsu has boosted its tablet range with the unveiling of a new flexible 2-in-1 device at its Fujitsu Forum event in Munich.

The Stylistic R726 can be used either as a handheld tablet or teamed up with a magnetic keyboard, and has a reported battery life of up to 12 hours.

Fujitsu says its new device will finally look to end the debate over whether owning a tablet or notebook PC for work tasks is preferable, as the R726 offers great productivity and usability across the board.

Work-ready

Inside, there’s also the option of up to 512GB encrypted storage, 4G/LTE connectivity with GPS, and even NFC capabilities, meaning it could also work in a business environment.

The body of the device is made of a magnesium-aluminium alloy, meaning it will easily cope with accidental bumps or scrapes, and it also comes with a nifty stylus, meaning you can write and annotate on the go.

“The argument has raged for years about whether or not tablets are really up to the task of replacing a traditional clamshell notebook,” said Jörg Hartmann, vice president of Fujitsu’s client computing devices business.

“Until now there have been compromises on both sides. In developing the new StylisticC R726, we focused on giving people the operational frameworks and innovative IT solutions they need to work more flexibly, and to adapt to their own unique needs. The result is a beautifully engineered device that’s a pleasure to use in all circumstances. Fujitsu has now delivered the definitive product to end the ‘tablet or clamshell’ debate for good.”

Fujitsu also revealed a refreshed version of its popular Lifebook T936 tablet, a 13.3in 2 in 1 ultrabook that sports a two-way convertible hinge alongside a 6th generation Intel Core i7 processor.

Both the R726 and Lifebook T936 will be available in the UK from February 2016, although there’s no definite news on prices just yet.
