Silicon Systems announce adoption of IBM's eServer xSeries range
Silicon Systems have integrated the xSeries range into their Server portfolio. The higher-end xSeries range fills a market gap for a server offering superior scalability and performance and the complete xSeries range benefits from IBM's billion dollar research and development schemes.
IBM's xSeries offers a complete range of server solutions ideal for the Graphics Industries, from the 1U x306 entry-level server to the highly-scalable x460. Extended memory 64-bit technology allows both 32-bit and 64-bit applications to run, providing flexible 64-bit migration. The xSeries also benefits from exceptional system management tools, calibrated vector cooling and I/O and storage scalability for maximising performance. This results in the xSeries providing a highly reliable server solution which can be accessed by multiple users with minimum latency.
At the top-end of the xSeries, the x366 and x460 are built around X3 Architecture and Hurricane chipsets. By adding nodes as and when required the x460 allows 8 x 4Processor systems to be connected to provide an extraordinary 32 processor system.
Neil Dobson , Managing Director of Silicon Systems, comments "IBM has been consistently taking its main-frame technologies and spreading them throughout their product lines. This means that the xSeries incorporates technologies maximizing performance and reliability that are not available in competing products."
