Silicon Systems Announces the Release of Flowmation Version 2.9 with Web-based Annotation and 'Virtual Book' Previews

Silicon Systems have announced the release of Version 2.9 of Flowmation, their Interactive Project Management system, which combines Digital Asset Management and Remote Approval with Project Management.

This release adds two major new features to Flowmation. The first is web-based annotation, which allows individuals to add comments directly on to assets within the system. This removes the need for files to be downloaded from the browser based system, annotated and then uploaded again. It also ensures all comments made are saved in a centralised location.

The second major addition is the 'Virtual Book' previews. This feature collates individual items within a project to simulate the look and feel of a book. It allows users to visualise how these assets would like once they are printed and bound.

Neil Dobson, Managing Director of Silicon Systems says "The Web-based annotation in Flowmation simplifies the approval process. All the person who is doing the approving needs is a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Safari. An automated email will take them straight to the appropriate asset. From there they can highlight the relevant area and a linked comment box is available to make your comments. Press save and you're done. That's it, it really is simple to use. Flowmation will take over from here; it will email the project manager to advise them a comment has been made and the information will then be added into the history of the project. All of this saves valuable time, speeding up the approval cycle. Being fully web based, it eliminates the need to have the appropriate software to open the downloaded files."

"The 'Virtual Book' preview was created to help both designers and clients visualise publications, whilst still in the production stage. This helps them ensure the publication has the look and feel they are trying to achieve. It's a neat way of viewing the assets in your project as it really does bring them to life in a way that just seeing them flat on a screen can't convey. We are delighted to be introducing both this and the annotation feature into the latest release."
