A decade is a long time. Especially so in the fast paced Graphics industry. What is cutting edge one year, is industry standard the next and barely acceptable a year after that. We are celebrating Ten Years of Excellence this year; that is ten years of staying ahead of the industry. Predicting future trends and providing our customers with the technology that will give them a significant advantage over their competitors. Silicon Systems started life in 1997. We focused on providing solutions the Graphics Industry. The first item ever sold was an SGI O2 running Barco Creator (those of you who remember that far back will know what those were!). Over the next few years we shifted more towards software solutions. We have always been a innovative company, not scared to try new technologies to benefit our clients. We were one the first companies in the UK to introduce remote support for clients. Since then the whole industry has gone down this route. We were also the first company to bring DAM to the mass market in the UK, with the launch of our wwWebflow system. This system made it easy for our customers to manage and share their assets through the web, it was years ahead of it’s competitors. Over the years our reputation has spread the length of the country. We have clients stretching from Cornwall to The Shetlands! Since 2001 we have been developing our own workflow solutions. The most recent advancement is Flowmation, which offers a compelling web-based Interactive Project Management system providing a whole new way of interacting with clients. To stay ahead of the industry you have got to ensure you have the right skills. We have built up a highly trained team, from Consultants and Installation Engineers through to Software Trainers and Support Engineers. In the last few years we have also created a team of developers to produce our own software solutions for the Graphics Industry. We don’t just work hard, we play hard too! Our Managing Director is a triathlete, recently competing in several endurance competitions. He’s not the only one who likes a long race; our Head of Development just took part in the Portsmouth to Dakar rally for charity, in a 1000cc Fiat Panda!! Now that is challenge!
