CIC Wins Two New Multinational Contracts

The Staffordshire based advertising agency has won two new multinational contracts following their introduction of Silicon System’s new IPM (Interactive Project Management) System; Flowmation. Rob Pearson, their Managing Director, shares the secret to their latest success.

THE COMPANY

CIC was formed back in 1990 as a photographic agency predominantly dealing with resolving issues relating to early digital photography. Over the next few years they expanded their activities, eventually becoming a full advertising agency in 1998.

In 1998, Rob Pearson also introduced a web based extranet where customers could go on-line and access assets. It was an immediate success. They quickly took on new accounts, with the likes of Fellows & Sons and Herbalife knocking at their door.

“At the time a lot of the big customers were using local agencies as they wanted the ability to walk in and get an update whenever they needed to. With the extranet we gave them this ability sitting at their desks” reflects Rob Pearson.

In the next few years CIC integrated Silicon System’s ‘wwWebflow’, which helped them win more accounts. Today CIC is a progressive company, who are growing in both size and turnover. They look after some very well known names.

THE CHALLENGE

With the increasing volumes of work, CIC identified the need for a single system which could take a campaign from concept stage, through the approval stages and ultimately to the management of the completed assets.

Rob Pearson revealed “There was nothing on the market that could allow us to do this. There were products which could do the various tasks but you ended up several applications, which didn’t interact very well. This was not only expensive, but time consuming and didn’t allow a comprehensive audit history.

“Stability of applications was also a major issue. When your client is up against a deadline you can’t tell them your system has fallen down. We needed a robust solution”.

FLOWMATION

Silicon Systems approached CIC with their IPM (Interactive Project Management) system at the conceptual stage. Since then CIC have been a development partner, regularly contributing ideas to the functionality of Flowmation.

Rob explained “It is just what we were looking for. A system that incorporated Digital Asset Management, remote approval and project management, which could be accessed on-line. This will allow our clients to access, approve and manage their assets with minimal effort on our part. The time saving potential is immense.

“To add to this Flowmation gives us additional benefits such as customisation of appearance and functionality for each client and because it is permission based they only see what they need to. The entire client interface is very sophisticated”.

THE FUTURE

Over the last few months CIC have started telling their existing and new clients about Flowmation and there has been a lot of interest. Rob revealed “We have already taken on two new multinationals just explaining the concept to them.

“Internally we can now see the benefits of an integrated system. Flowmation has overcome all of the stability problems we were facing. The workflow is so much simpler than before, with many automated functions, such as emailing notification of changes, repurposing and reminders. Centralising all of the items then checking them in and out saves duplication of work.

“The feedback from our existing clients has been excellent. They love the interface, it’s really easy to use requiring no training; if they can shop on Amazon.com, they can use Flowmation.

“We have now gone live with Flowmation with our large accounts. One of our multinationals, Herbalife, produce a magazine in 21 languages, translated in 21 different countries all coordinated from one central point with Flowmation. If Flowmation can do this, it can do anything.

“We can now walk in to new accounts with confidence; in the knowledge we have something other agencies can’t offer”.
